What is Proposition 37?

Proposition 37 requires companies to label the raw and processed food they put on the market properly and indicate whether the product is genetically engineered or contains genetically engineered materials. It also prohibits calling the products “natural”.
The products that are exempt from this are organic products that unintentionally contains genetically engineered materials for certain purposes like medication.

The pros for this proposition are that consumers will be able to know what the products they are buying will contain. People can avoid the products that are genetically engineered. The cons for the proposition are the prices of these products will go up. The people who don’t really mind that their foods are genetically engineered will be affected greatly because they never asked for this proposition and they will be forced to pay a higher price for the products just because of the labeling. Another con is that the ones against this proposition are big companies that can give a ton of money to the funds used by the groups that will fight the proposition. The funds against the propositions greatly overwhelm the funds to support it.

If I could vote for it I would because I would rather pay more for the products and know what it’s made off rather than just buying things without thinking that there might be a better option instead of that certain product. But I can’t vote so I’ll just have to hope that it passes and becomes a law.

Middle Ages

If I were living back then in the middle ages, I would be living in a small but cozy house in a small village, but I would probably be out most of the time helping and traveling together with the knight. I would have to take care of his horses and help him train daily.

My family life would probably be terrible since I would have dedicated my life to helping the knight till I become one myself, but once I become a knight, my family life will probably be better since I can travel on my own if I want to since I won’t have to go along with the knight where he pleases. Even if I enjoy traveling with other people, I would still want to be free to explore on my own and some day I would like to have a squire of my own.

Back then I would probably be a lot more active than I am now because back then were hard. They didn’t have the convenience we have right now. Everyone back then had to work to survive and they had to stick with that lifestyle most of their lives because they weren’t given the chance to make their lives better than it is.

I don’t really have any military training so becoming a knight back then would be hard for me since I would have to undergo training first. I think if it was back then I would be able to be overcome the challenges, but right now, maybe not because I am spoiled by technology and things that make our lives much easier and convenient.
