Normally colleges would check your grades in high school before they consider you eligible to enroll for their campus. Reason this is that they don't want to allow people who didn't work hard enough during their high school years, or if the person thinks that being accepted in college is easy so they just let go of their grades in highschool. Most of these people would eventually dop out of college, and it would be unfair to those who worked extra hard to get accepted and some of them would be replaces by people who would eventually drop out because the college wasn't strict enough.
I totally agree with the requirements for college to avoid people from slacking off, because if they let their grades in high school and in college go, then it would be like throwing away their future and they would end up with a low paying job instead of the job they dreamed of. Students have to realize that it is very important to do very well throughout highschool and not just their senior year because colleges don't jsut check for that certain year but they check if you did good all throughout your high school years.
The standards for colleges should remain the same to avoid future generations to think that they don't need to put out a lot of effort with their studies because going into college would be a breeze. Once people start adapting to this mindset, it would be very hard to set them straight, and it is very crucial to a persons life to get a good education to prevent them from throwing their lives away.
